Unit 1: Novel as a Theme
Our first unit focuses on the novel, Friend or Foe by Michael Morpurgo. This is a historical fiction story set in World War II
Pupils have enjoyed acting out how David may have felt waiting to be picked at the village hall;
We have discussed David as a character and produced a mind map;
Pupils have written their own letter home, thinking of themselves as David (including a shared class opener)
We have produced our end of term writing, using the theme of the book, to create a new story;
