British Values
British Values
At Halsall St Cuthbert’s we follow and teach pupils about British Values which are defined as:
- Democracy
- Rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
Such values are taught explicitly through Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE), and Religious Education (RE). We also teach British Values through planning and delivering a varied and balanced curriculum. We have achieved the following external accreditations which demonstrate evidence of our commitment to British Values:
- Ofsted grade of 'Outstanding’ (February 2015)
- School Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) grade of 'Outstanding' (2018)
At Halsall St Cuthbert’s we look for opportunities to actively promote British Values through daily collective worship and whole school routines and systems such as electing and running a school council team. We promote British values through ensuring that our curriculum planning and delivery include opportunities for exploring these values.
