Halsall Memorial Hall & Playing Field Charity
This charity are keen to host a range of community events and utilise the building and grounds for the benefit of the local community. Their mission statement is:
To improve the conditions of life of the inhabitants of Halsall without distinction of political, religious or other opinions by the provision and maintenance of:(a) a village hall for use by the inhabitants, including use for meetings, lectures and classes and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation(b) a recreation ground for use by the inhabitants.

Shirdley Hill VE Day Celebrations
A host of VE day celebrations will take place on Shirdley Hill green on Sunday 4th April. This will be a Halsall wide celebration/party on the green with stalls, bouncy castle etc (a fete atmosphere). It is being organised by the Shirdley Hill Community association in conjunction with St Cuthbert's and the Parish Council.
On Thursday 8th (VE Day) a beacon will be lit on the green by Rev Susan Salt in commemoration (this will be a smaller event).
VE DAY - POSTER COMPETITION
8th May is the 80th Anniversary of VE Day (1945 End of WW2 in Europe)
Halsall Parish Council would like a poster exhibition in the War Memorial Hall to commemorate the contributions made by all Halsall residents to the wider war effort.
1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes of £100, £50, £25 per group:
Primary (5-11)
Secondary (12-18)
Adult
Artwork should be in the style of a WW2 poster, hard copy A4 or digital file such as JPEG and plenty of inspiration can be found on the internet or at halsallhistory.co.uk/home-history/
