Computing
We use technology throughout the school day, from researching to music production.
In Computing we initially recapped on the basic functions of a computer; how to safely turn a device on and off, opening an application, making and saving a document, as well as practicing our typing skills. We also learned how to cut and paste an image into a document.
During the second half of our autumn term we look at systems and how the internet works (including internet safety).
Pupils enjoyed looking at how networks are connected using our 'connecting' activity:
We will move on to look at how to code in terms of writing our own block coding instructions and debugging when required. In the summer term we will build on this and fine tune our coding skills to create our own game using more complicated block coding.
We will also be looking at data logging, understanding how devices can be used to record data and imputting data using Excel.
Class C will also get to become digital photo editors, understanding what websites and appliactions can be used, learning how imgaes can be altered and the dangers of this. We will finish our topic by making our own digitally altered image.
