Geography

This year we will be building on our previous learning in Geography, including improving our mapping skills and using a range of digital resources to aid our understanding of the world.

Topic 1: Land Use in Liverpool

We will be learning about rural and urban land use,

Undertaking field work in and around our local area and producing sketch maps of the rural landscape.

We will then be focusing on Liverpool and in particular the docks; undertanding it's importance in terms of transport and trade and comparing rural and urban areas.

Topic 2: Mountains

We will be looking closely at mountains as a topic; locating some significant mountain ranges in the world and understanding how different mountains are formed. Pupils will use a range of resources to aid them.

Topic 3; Water

Finally, pupils will look at the importance of water; they will learn about the water cycle, it's changing states and the water treatment process. We will be undertaking fieldwork in our local area, along the canal.
